Submission Policies

Do you have a story to tell? The Dark Corner Zine is currently accepting submissions for Issue 6!

The submission period for issue 6 runs from February 6th until March 31st, 2021. We will not accept submission after the end date.

We publish fiction and artwork in the genres of horror, science fiction, and weird fiction.

For written submissions, we only accept short stories. We do not accept poetry.

Submissions can be up to 5,500 words and must be submitted as a DOCX, ODT, or PDF.

Stories must not have previously been published.

Stories must not be fan fiction or connected to any current series not owned by the writer.

Artists can submit up to 3 works from their portfolio. If the artist is selected, all 3 works will be printed in our gallery section along with additional details such as a bio and contact information. As our zine is 6x9, please make sure your submissions are sent in one of the following formats: PNG, TIFF, JPEG (Lossy), or PDF. Works must be 300dpi or higher.

Submissions can be sent as attachments or cloud drive links to thedarkcornerzine@gmail.com. Please make sure to allow us the ability to download works if sent as drive links.

If your submission is accepted, you will have two options for payment. Either a one time payment of $20.00 USD or a physical copy of the limited issue along with promotional material items created for that issue. Typically these items include pins, stickers, bookmarks, etc. The physical run of each issue is strictly a one time print run of 110 copies.

This payment allows us the rights to publish the work in a physical format run of 110 copies and Unlimited digital copies. We do not ask for permanent rights to your story if selected and published through our zine. Once the physical issue is released, you may submit your story or artwork to be published in another publication.
